Tortuga is a village in the central mountain range of Trinidad and Tobago – approximately 22 mi or (36 km) South of Port of Spain , the country’s capital city. Tortuga, named after the multitude of turtles (morocoys) which roamed the landscape, is a small village approximately 10 sq. km in size. It was well-known as a thriving agricultural community with several groups contributing to its economic development.

Grande Riviere is a village on the north coast of Trinidad and Tobago. It is 100 km from the capital Port of Spain. It is accessible via a single paved road which runs from Toco (site of the island’s only lighthouse) to its east, and is separated from the rest of the island by the hills of the Northern Range.

Trinidad and Tobago is a dual-island Caribbean nation near Venezuela, with distinctive Creole traditions and cuisines.
